DryTone: Water Eject & Speaker Cleaner

Effective date: August 29, 2026

Short version: DryTone cleans your speaker by playing sound — everything runs on your iPhone. The microphone is used only to show live decibel readings and audio is never recorded or uploaded. If you allow location access, your approximate coordinates are sent once to a weather service to display local humidity. No accounts, no ads, and we never sell your data.

1. Who We Are

This policy explains how DryTone ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information. It applies to the DryTone iOS app distributed on the Apple App Store.

2. What the App Does

DryTone plays specific sound frequencies through your iPhone speaker to help push out water droplets and loosen dust, offers a manual tone generator, measures ambient sound levels in decibels, tests stereo output, and can show the current relative humidity at your location.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

4. Microphone (Decibel Meter)

The decibel meter uses the microphone to compute live sound-level readings (current, average, minimum, maximum). Processing happens in real time entirely on your device. Audio is never saved to disk, never uploaded, and never leaves your iPhone. When you leave the meter screen, the microphone is released. You can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings; the rest of the App keeps working.

5. Location and Humidity

The optional humidity card requests your approximate location once (kilometer-level accuracy) and sends those coordinates to the Open-Meteo weather API (open-meteo.com) to retrieve the current relative humidity for your area. The coordinates are used only for that request; we do not store them and they are not linked to your identity. If you deny location access, the humidity card is simply hidden and everything else works normally.

6. Purchases

Subscriptions and payments are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your payment details. We receive only the standard, non-identifying transaction information Apple provides to validate your purchase and unlock Pro features.

7. Analytics and Diagnostics

To understand how the App is used and to keep it working well, the App includes two analytics SDKs: Umeng (U-App) and Google Firebase Analytics. They collect app-usage events (for example, which screens are opened and which features are used) together with basic device information such as device model, OS version, app version, language/region, and a per-vendor device identifier (IDFV). Firebase Analytics is also used to measure the performance of our Apple Search Ads campaigns (install attribution).

This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. The App does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Umeng processes data in accordance with its privacy policy (umeng.com/page/policy); Firebase in accordance with Google's (firebase.google.com/support/privacy).

Additionally, if you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in iOS settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized crash and usage statistics.

8. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
